Apartment H
London, United Kingdom 2022 - 2023

Located on the outskirts of London in Highgate, this raised ground floor apartment is defined by a sequence of living spaces organised along an axial corridor, connecting the three levels. The architectural language of the spaces has been shaped by three factors: the aesthetic of reduction, the idea of connectivity of rooms with light and the reality of the existing structure. The light through the internal windows, choreograph connections through the apartment, each tailored to accommodate the specific needs of a given space. Its unique sense of place and atmosphere is underscored by a refined but elemental palette of plaster, timber and carpet. Set within the context of white sculptural plaster ceilings and walls, the materiality and detailing echo the client’s collection of Edwardian and Victorian furniture, and create a dialogue between the architecture and the objects within each space.
